We are pleased to announce that the outstanding client work of our exceptional advocates was celebrated by Benchmark Litigation Canada at their annual awards ceremony on May 8.

Paliare Roland’s role in  Reference re An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families, 2024 SCC 5, a pivotal Supreme Court of Canada decision with more than 30 interveners, was recognized with an Impact Case Award for representing the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples, with a team led by Andrew Lokan and Glynnis Hawe.

Andrew Lokan also received the “Aboriginal Litigator of the Year” award for his longstanding contributions to helping shape the interpretation and application of the framework for Aboriginal/Indigenous law and the exercise of government powers, including the reach of government programming.

For the third consecutive year, Lindsay Scott received the “Labour & Employment Litigator of the Year” award, for her continued outstanding work representing the interest of employees and employers.
